using restart file or .coor/.vel file

Hi,
     Thank you for your help.
     AND I am confused that in the conf file,
  binCoordinates $inputname.restart.coor
binVelocities $inputname.restart.vel
   
  and could I use another .coor and .vel instead of the restart file? Are there some differences that will be caused in the simulation result ?
