RE: NAMD on Win64

As far as I know, you can try to build an executable of namd using cygwin... I'm not an expert in Windows OS's, but I've heard long time ago that cygwin is using the WOW64-32 bit environment on Win-64. Up to know I haven't heard of anybody using a 64-bit version of cywin. Maybe you can try to compile it and see how it performs (compared to the 32-bit version). But I'm really not sure if the performance of a 64-bit version of NAMD running under Windows will perform significantly better...

I hope it helps,

Michel

Subject: namd-l: NAMD on Win64

I would like to be able to build and run NAMD on an Athlon64 AMD workstation
with Windows 64bit operating system.

Is this at all possible?
What problems could it give?
Does anyone have experience with this set-up?
I would of course have it run in 64bit mode to exploit the hardware
optimally.

Thanks for any help or comments
