Mea culpa, guess who'd forgotten to unset the -D that told it I was still
using the old TCL that NAMD ships for some architectures!

I gave up the XL compilers for the time being and dropped back to building
with GCC and got an (apparently) working binary (I can't say for sure as I'm
a sysadmin not a chemist).

I also needed to define:

        -DSOCKLEN_T=socklen_t

to get around another problem.

Now trying again with the IBM XL compilers to see how it goes there.
