NAMD currently runs on PVM (Parallel Virtual Machine), a message-passing library available from Oak Ridge National Laboratory. PVM runs on many distributed and parallel platforms, and the source is freely available through http://www.epm.ornl.gov/pvm/pvm_home.html. You must have PVM installed on your system prior to building NAMD. This version of NAMD has been developed and tested using PVM 3.3.11 and 3.4.
At present, there is no good way to generate the required PSF files without some additional package. We recommend X-PLOR ( http://xplor.csb.yale.edu/xplor-info/xplor-info.html) to generate these structure files.
